HOW OUR PROCESS WORKS FOR STORM CLAIMS...
Schedule your Complimentary Roof Inspection with us. We’ll perform a thorough roof inspection, take pictures of damage that we find and then report our findings to you once we’re back down on the ground. If we feel like there is enough damage on your roof, we’ll proceed to STEP TWO. If we feel that there isn’t enough damage to warrant an Insurance Claim, we’ll let you know that as well.
It’s time to call in the claim. The claim process itself takes about 15- 20 minutes. The Insurance Company will ask you questions like: What damage do you see? Do you have damage in your interior? When was the storm? What type of storm was it? etc. The insurance representative will take down all of those details and inform you of next steps.
NOTE: Always ask for an in-person Roof Inspection. Do NOT accept a Drone Roof Inspection or a “Virtual” Inspection.
Within a few days of calling in your claim, the Insurance company will reach out to schedule your Inspection. Again, please do NOT accept Drone or Virtual Inspection. Once you know when your Storm Damage Inspection is to take place, please give your salesman a call (or call the office number: 817-778-8731) We want to be present during this inspection as your General Contractor and your advocate in case any questions arise.
NOTE: Insurance Companies are moving more towards 3rd party Roof Inspector companies that actually do not have any credentials. It allows the Insurance Company a loop hole to defend their position if they don’t agree with what the Storm Damage Inspector says. Having us present during your inspection, gives us another opportunity to share our own findings/experience if necessary.
Once the Storm Damage Inspector remits their report to the Insurance Company, they will decide whether or not they will “buy” your roof. If they buy your roof, you’ll receive a Scope of Work (an estimate of damages) via email/mail. Once you receive that Scope of Work, you’ll schedule an appointment with us to sign a Roofing Contract. If they don’t “buy” your roof, let us know and we’ll discuss possible next steps. We work with some of the best Public Adjusters in the industry.
After our Contract is signed, we’ll begin working through your Scope to make sure that the Insurance Company is paying for everything they need to pay for in order to put your roof back the exact way it is prior to tear-off. We also make sure that any other damage resulting from a storm is also covered and properly paid for. If there are things missing, which Insurance is notorious for doing (remember, they aren’t in the business of actually roofing or repairing anything!), we’ll create a Supplement to your Scope of Work, detailing what’s missing with photos & documentation and have you submit that to your Insurance company. We’ll make sure all of that is taken care of up front prior to any work being performed.
We’ll schedule your Roof Replacement and schedule any other trades that need to be scheduled as well…gutters, fence, HVAC, window screens, etc.
Once the materials are on the ground at your home or place of business & our crew is on your roof, we’ll pick up the first payment (including your deductible).
NOTE: If your Insurance Company hasn’t paid for everything correctly, we’ll supplement for those items that need to be replaced. This usually also means the Insurance Company will issue additional checks (depending on how many supplements we end up doing for you). Once you receive those Supplement Checks, you’ll let us know and we’ll send out someone to pick them up.
Once your Roof has been replaced & all other items have been repaired/replaced, we’ll send out our QC Team (quality control) to re-roll for nails, pick up any remaining materials (we buy more than we need!) and take pictures for the Completion Report that we’ll send over to your Insurance Company. This final step will trigger the Insurance Company to send out the final check(s) to you. We’ll invoice you for your final balance due, related to all work that we performed, and schedule a time to pick that up from you.
