ALL ABOUT ASPHALT SHINGLE ROOFING

Asphalt Shingle Roofing

Asphalt shingle roofing is a popular choice for many homeowners due to its affordability, durability, and versatility. Asphalt shingles are made of asphalt and fiberglass, and they come in a variety of colors and styles to suit the aesthetic of any home.

One of the major benefits of asphalt shingle roofing is its affordability. Asphalt shingles are generally less expensive than other types of roofing materials, such as tile or metal, making them a budget-friendly option for many homeowners.

In addition to being cost-effective, asphalt shingle roofing is also durable and long-lasting. Asphalt shingles are resistant to extreme weather conditions, including wind, hail, and rain, and they have a lifespan of 7-10 years in Texas with proper maintenance (due to North Texas storm seasons, it’s nearly impossible to get a full 20 years out of a shingle).

Another advantage of asphalt shingle roofing is its versatility. Asphalt shingles can be used on a variety of roofing styles, including gable, hip, and mansard roofs. They are also available in a wide range of colors and styles, including traditional three-tab shingles and architectural shingles, which have a more textured, dimensional appearance.

When it comes to maintenance, asphalt shingle roofing is relatively low-maintenance. It is important to keep debris, such as leaves and branches, off the roof to prevent damage and extend the lifespan of the shingles. It is also recommended to have your roof inspected by a professional every 3-5 years to identify and address any potential issues.

In conclusion, asphalt shingle roofing is a cost-effective, durable, and versatile option for homeowners. With proper maintenance, asphalt shingle roofs can last for decades, protecting your home and keeping it looking beautiful.

I guess I will jump on the bandwagon of satisfied Smitty's General Contractors customers. It was great to work with Chad, Taylor, and Chad's father Mike. They explain the procedure to you, so you know everything is going as planned. Chad believes in doing things the right way. Chad also believes that insurance companies should pay to restore your property to the way it was before the damage occurred. Chad is like hiring an attorney to represent you, to settle your claim. My roof, vents, flashing, gutters, and screens were repaired to my satisfaction. I only had to pay my deductible, not a penny more. 3 weeks after I settled up with Chad, I discovered another damaged screen. Chad had it repaired and returned it to me, no questions asked. I will gladly recommend Smitty's General Contractors.
